Prep room management & H&S for senior Science technicians - 5th October 2026
This one-day discussion based course explores and shares ideas for good prep room management. It is intended for senior technicians and those aspiring to become senior technicians.
Health & Safety Management for Heads of Science - 16th October 2026
This one-day course focuses on issues related to the management of health and safety in the science department including risk assessment. It is intended for Heads of Science, their deputies, heads of physics, chemistry and biology and those aspiring to such posts. By the end of the day participants will appreciate the need for a health and safety policy, will have at least the outline of such a policy for their own establishment and will have considered how its implementation can be sensibly monitored.
Introduction to supporting Physics teaching - 20th November
This one-day practical course is designed for science technicians who are new to and/or inexperienced with the physics equipment used in science departments. (More experienced technicians may also pick up some useful tips).

The aim of this course is to provide further support for those who are not experienced at teaching KS3 science. This is perfect for those new to teaching or those teaching the subject outside of specialism. We aim to cover a number of essentials for teaching science, including key misconceptions, delivering practical work and health and safety.

The aim of this course is to provide further support for those who are not experienced at teaching KS4 Physics. This is perfect for those new to teaching or those teaching the subject outside of specialism. We aim to cover a number of essentials for teaching Physics, including key misconceptions, tricky topics and a variety of teaching strategies.
